The Main Opponant Political Leader in Senegal

 

One of a peaceful country in Africa continent and since their independency, there was not any political crisis as recently what occurred. Senegal is basically a country located in West Africa and in this country the principal opponent of Macky Sall that is Ousmane Sonko.

WHO İS OUSMANE SONKO EXACTLY AND HOW THE COUNTRY WAS ABOUT TO BE İN CHAOS FOR THE FİRST TİME HISTORICALLY AFTER INDEPENDENCY?

OUSMANE SONKO is a political leader and the main opponent of the current president in Senegal and he has subsequently brain washed of young Senegalese  with anti-system ideas of the president. His inculpation in an alleged rape case and his arrest sparked an unprecedented obvious political crisis within the country. Due to his ideologies that most of the population embraced thus the manifestation of young Senegalese launched in the street until some of them died and they burned  some of the public places in the capital Dakar. Ousmane was expected at the Dakar court house on Wednesday, whereby he was summoned the investigating judge in a rape case so normally he said that he would not assist the summons but after his religious guide, lawyers and civil society leaders he changed his mind to attend. Practically when the opponent convoy left his home around 9 am a journey filmed especially live on his facebook page, accompanied by supporters, those who had gathered in droves , despite an important security arrangement. Later, the tension is rised and activists were forcibly dispersed with gas so the principal opponent was arrested for the disturbance public order and participating in an unauthorized demonstration according to his lawyers, and taken to the research section where he was detained into custody. Moreover, the important security device was deployed by the government in numerous districts of the capital in order to maintain the security and protect civilians. Unrest also erupted in Saint Louis, in the north country , also in Casamance in the South particularly in Ziguinchor and Bignona, stronghold of the opponent. Ousmane Sonko in any deliberately refused to answer the research section for the gendarmes according to his defense. On the side of the ruling party, the deputy spokesperson and first vice-president of the National Assembly, Abdou Mbow is outrage by the incredible vandalism and violence so the state need to take all its responsibilities to ensure that the law remains strong and work for everyone within without any marginalization or discrimination of any ethnic groups because truly we are in a democratic country so it is unbearable for us to accept that things in violence. Factually this matter came from a private affair and I think since they started communicating, you have never heard them speak out which is the alleged rape charge.

This current political crisis, the United Nations called on the all actors to exercise restraint and calm because the UN always try to appease the tensions. In the wake of the scale of regime because the declarations are not enough anymore.  Ousmane Sonko who was released  on Monday, March 8 under judicial supervision, claims to be the victim of a plot hatched by the head of government Macky Sall, in order to exclude him from the presidential election of 2024. I recommend the full accountability and justice in Senegal otherwise Ousmane Sonko’s critics dismiss him as a demagogue even though he still remain the most popular political leader with young people for his view  of Pan-African perspective and rhetoric…
